Exciting Pro Wrestling 7 is another name for WWE SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 in the Japanese language. It is the follow-up to the 2004 game of the same name and is a part of the WWE SmackDown vs. Raw video game series, which is centered on the professional wrestling advertisement World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE). In addition, this game was the last PlayStation-only title in SmackDown! vs. Raw series. The first game in the franchise to be launched on PSP.

SmackDown! vs. Raw 2006 aims to break away from the arcade-style gameplay of earlier versions. It provides numerous upgrades that will add more realism and originality to the series. Two new game modes, General Manager and Create-An-Entrance, have been added to the game along with new Buried Alive and Fulfill Your Fantasy matches. Gameplay​

Firstly, the former SmackDown! meters were replaced with an updated momentum bar to measure the match’s movement. The wrestler will be represented as a face if the user selects them to battle clean. He or she will be painted as a heel if they decide to fight dirty. Additionally, the user must monitor the wrestler’s stamina bar, which reduces during a fight; the more difficult the attack is, the weaker the wrestler will be. To avoid being worn out and unable to function, the player must refill their stamina bar. It is possible to disable this function through the game’s options menu, though, as it is optional.

Secondly, the four fixed grappling types in the previous game have been replaced with much-improved grapple kinds, with more options available to each character. Power, Speed, Technical, Brawler, Martial Arts, Luchadore, and Old School are the seven grappling options available to all characters. In addition, each character has two grappling categories: Submission and Clean/Dirty, for a total of five grapples. The Irish whip has been upgraded to an improved variant, which increases the opponent’s attacking potential but reduces the player’s energy.

Thirdly, an upgraded steel cage match in this game allows the player to get away through the door of the cage. A Fulfill Your Fantasy match, which is shown after the costume-based diva match that took place at the Taboo Tuesday pay-per-view event, has taken the place of the Bra and Panties battle. This version of the event features divas stripping their opponents down to their bra and underwear, spanking each other, and beating each other with pillows, in contrast to the actual one, which is more.
